This is a Collectible Vintage Pennsylvania Dutch Country souvenir miniature pitcher with plate (one piece). Made in Taiwan by A Capsco Product - Capitol Souvenir Company.  I believe it was sold as a toothpick holder and was sold with a small pack of toothpicks inside.

The pottery is glazed with brown tones with a round drawing of a Pennsylvania Dutch scene on one side. The other side is an embossed emblem possibly off grains with a ribbon around them ?? The pitcher is on what looks like a plate which is part of the pitcher and not a separate piece.

In glossy condition with some tiny 1 - 3 mm chips around the plate as shown in the pictures..

It stands approximately 3 inches tall x 2.75 inches wide x 3 inches wide.

This item was found at an estate sale.

There is a sticker on the bottom ... very hard to make out in the pictures .... that reads:

A Capsco Product

With a drawing of the capitol Building in the middle

A Capsco Product / Capitol Souvenir Company History

In 1914 when Mr. Jacob Goozh decided to leave his family in Europe and come to the United States. He stayed with relatives in Boston and worked there for a while until he saw an opportunity for a souvenir photography studio in Washington D.C.

Mr. Goozh went to Washington and set about learning the business of photography. He ventured forth into the City of Washington on a daily basis with his camera to take portraits of people who desired to have their pictures taken.

He remained at this for about a year or more and after learning more of photography, he decided to open a photography studio which he did at 917 Penn. Ave., N.W., under the name of Empire Photo Studio.

Mr. Goozh changed the original Empire Photo Studio name to The Capitol Souvenir Company, in 1931.

Throughout the company history Goozh contracted with many small pottery companies to produce his Washington D.C. Souvenirs and handled the production end of his post card company in house.
